The collections shoot — the one that showcases all the new-season wares — is always one of the most exciting to put together, and for the February issue of Vogue it was made even more so. Why? Kittens.

“Everyone loved the kittens, especially Edie Campbell,” recalls Vogue fashion editor Fran Burns of the shoot, which she styled for the latest issue and which was photographed by Angelo Pennetta. “We wanted it to have a really personal feel” — and so in stepped the kittens, two of them to be exact: one naughty one and one good one, both a bit camera shy at times.

But aside from the cute factor getting the better of everyone, it was also a shoot to celebrate the spring/summer 2013 season and all of our great British talent.

“I wanted to celebrate the incredible British models who ruled the catwalks during Fashion Week. It’s great for us to back home-grown talent, we have so many fantastic models,” said Burns of the crop of girls that feature: Edie Campbell, Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn, Stephanie Hall, Lara Mullen, Sam Rollinson, Rosie Tapner and Charlotte Wiggins.

Photographed in Winchester at Avington Park, the shoot became quite the fashion day out — the models armed with flip cameras and left to their own devices with them throughout the day.
